Osvaldo Ventriglia, born in Fireland / Argentina, received his training in contemporary dance, actor and choreography at the contemporary dance school of the Teatro Municipal General San Martín. Between 1980 and 1990 he worked as a dancer, actor and choreographer for various theaters, the Teatro Municipal General San Martin, the Teatro Colon and independent dance companies in Buenos Aires.

 

In 1990/91 grants from the Fundacion Antorchas enabled him to train abroad as a dancer and choreographer. From 1991 he worked under the direction of the Austrian theater director Johann Kresnik as a soloist in over 45 dance theater productions for the Theater Bremen, the Schauspielhaus Hamburg, the Volksbühne Berlin, the Theatre & Orchestre Heidelberg, the Schauspiel Hannover, at the Salzburg Festival and at the Theater Bonn as well as in film and television.

 

Osvaldo Ventriglia also worked with numerous well-known choreographers, theater directors and filmmakers such as Werner Schroeter, Ruby Edelman, Albrecht Hirche, Susanne Linke, Christoph Schlingensief, Christoph Marthaler, Stephan Thoss, Constanze Lauterbach, Klaus-Peter Fischer, Benjamin Schad, Ismael Ivo, Nielson Soares, Christoph Klimke, Christina Comtesse, Hannes Hametner, Bibiana Jiménez, Yoshiko Waki, Andrea Bleikamp, Rosi Ulrich.

 

Osvaldo Ventriglia  currently works as a freelance actor, dancer and choreographer.
